Mums For Moms was started in August 2004 by Linda Jo Morrow, a Military Mother of Sgt. Mark E. Morrow Jr. a U.S. Marine who is currently stationed in Hawaii. Linda has been delivering bouquet's of Mums in the Lancaster, Pa. and surrounding area for five years and counting. To date Mums for Moms has delivered to over 146 Military Mothers. Linda started when her son Mark told her in June of 2004 he was being deployed to the war zone in Iraq. Linda wanted to reach out to other mothers who also had children serving overseas. She wanted to listen to their stories, what they were going through and how those mothers were handling everything, but more importantly Linda wanted to cheer up the Mothers and herself as well. During the journey of delivering Mums for Moms Linda Jo has had the privilege of being interviewed by numerous TV stations and Newspapers, and even was among the five people from the county who were asked to greet the President Bush and the First Lady at a campaign stop at the Lancaster Airport, October 27, 2004. Linda Jo Morrow has also been awarded the Red Rose in the Lancaster New Era for her many achievements in the community.
Linda Jo has sent 428 care packages that were sent starting in Oct. 2007. Our goal is to make sure the Troops know that we support them.
